At the Haymarket meadow hay has brought from Is Gd to 3s 9d ; oaten sheaves, 2s to 2s 9d ; pressed hay, 3s bd ; chaff, 3s 3.1; bran, 3s Gd ; sharps, 4s cwt ; oats, Is lOd to 2s 6d ; mai;:e, 2s lOd ; rye grass, 3s to 4s Gd ; Poverty Ray rye grass, 6a ; cocksfoot, 7s Gd bushel; white clover, lOd ; cow-grass, Sd ; alsyke, 8d lb ; guano, £3 10s ; bonedust, £5 10s to £6 10s ton. Maize on wharf, 2s Sd bushel. On Friday horse stock yarded numeiously, .sold freely throughout the sile. Heavy draught brought from £l7 to £l7 153 ; medium draught, from £0 to £IS ; light harness, £5 to £8 each. On Tuesday, hides pitched in lull number, were freely competed for at an advance over last week's values. Light hides brought from to 4d ; hea- y hides. 3d to 7§d ; medium, 4d to 3d ; calfskins, 4id to lb. Tailow, 12s to 13s 3d cwt; fat, Id lb. Horns. 4s cwt, Pelts were also better worth, and brought from Sd to 2s 7d ; lambskins, 2a 3d to 2s lid ; lambs' wool, 5Jd and Gd lb. At Waiukn, on Saturday, a smaller muster of cattle than usual were yarded ; there was a full attendance of buyers, and prices were satisfactory. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), report.— Auckland Wool Stores, April 7th. On Tuesday, 6ch hist., we offered an average catalogue at our usual weekly auction. Competition was good, and prices ruled on a par with late rates, except cow hides, which ruled higher. Hides : Prime stout ox, -Gd to 6fd ; heavy stout, 5d to oi|<l : l'ght and medium, 3fd to 4 : £d; cow hides advanced on last quotations, hulk felling at 2fd to 3£d ; sloppy, }d less, and picked up to 4|d ; kip, 2?d to 3id ; calf, 3|d to sd. Wool: Scouring lots, Cd to s§d lb. Sheepskins: Salted pelta, large, 2s Sd to 3s 2d ; small and medium, Is 6d to 2s SI ; lambs, Is Sd to 3s ; dried skins, la 4d to 2s Gd each. Tallow: Medium quality, 13s 3d ; good, 14s Gd per cwt. Hair, borus, bones, etc., at lull prices;. Oats: Market slightly firmer, and more business passing. Quotations : 2s 2d (Standard A) and 2s lid (Standard B), c.i.f. Potatoes : Southern consignments are arriving in poor coudition, and purchases are for immediate consumption only Quotations : £4 (is to £4 10s, delivered into store. Onion's: The market is well supplied. Quotation : £5 per ton. Bonedust, £5 10s; blood and bone manure, £S per ton. Grass seed : Business during the past week has been good. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Weekly Report.—Horsefeed, grain, seeds : Maize has been brought forward in limited quantitiesyind has consequently advanced in value. Other requisites of the trade have been ample for requirements. We quote : Maize on wharf, 2s 8d bushel in trade lots, ex store, 2s lOd to 2s lid; feed oats, 2s Gd ; seed oats, 2s 8d to 2s 9d ; oaten chaff, plentiful, from £2 5s to £2 15a ton, prices ruled by quality and extent of line disposed of ; bran, £3 15s to £4 ton ; grass and clover seed in fair demand ; cocksfoot fiom 5s lOd to 7s Gd bushel ; Poverty Bay lyegrass, 5s to Gm Gd ; Southern, 4s fid ; local, 3s Gd to 4s. Horses have continued to be brought forward in large numbers and for those of a good stamp there has been a good demand at the previous week's values. A good many were submitted by auction on Friday, and competition was good throughout the sale. We quote : Heavy draught from £l6 15s to £3O; medium draught, £!1 10s to £ls 15s ; light harness. £4 10s to £ll 15s; hacks, £4 to £ll 5s ; weeds. £1 to £2. Wool, hides, skin, I allow, Lones : The demand for bides has been brisk and the supply insufficient, consequently bidding has been most spirited. The Newmarket Yards were moderately filled on Tuesday, and there was a large muster at Pupakura on Weduesday, and competition brisk. The New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Acjencv Cojipanv, Ltd , report under date, London, February 20th : With a continuance of mild weather, while the demand has been fairly good, the tendency of value* has been in buyer's favour. Prime Canterbury realises late rates, but if below this standard lower rales have to le accepted in order to effect sales of any considerable quantity.
