KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Kiri kiriroa Uoail Board was held at the chambers, Hainiltdi Fast, yesterday, when then; were present: Messrs John Gordon (chairman), W. (.'hitiy and John Primrose. Drain. —MrThos. Paterson requested the Board to make JO chains of a drain m<vr his boundary.—The Board considered they could not entertain the application, but had no objection to the applicant forming the drain at his own expense. Graved.— Mr If. Bullock-Webster applied for permission to take gravel from the Board’s pit for improving the road to his house, at Mr Windsor’s old farm. —The Board considered it was unable to comply with the request. Closed Koad.— Mr Thos. McDonald, of North Ngarnawahia, applied to have the road enclosed by his neighbour (Mr Starr) thrown open.—The Chairman said Mr Starr had never applied for permission to enclose the road, and the Board decided to have the obstructions removed. Valuation Poll. An application from Mr C. W. Sarc to have Mr H. B. Webster’s name inserted on the valuation roll in lien of Ids own was held over for fuller information. Finance.— The Clerk reported upon the Board’s financial position as follows : Receipts, £7GI Os; expenditure, £543 (is (id; credit balance, £221 2s Gd ; rates due, £4O os; subsidy, £3O ; Taylor’s Road subscription, £10; total assets, £3lO 7s Gd.— The members present expressed great pleasure at tne Board’s satisfactory position. Model Farm Drain.— On the suggestion of Mr Chitty, the Board decided to fence in the open portion of the Model Farm drain where it strikes the road, as it was reported to be a menace to passing travellers. Tenders —The following tenders were received for gravelling from Mr Libe-m’s to Tatipiri T. Cassidy, Is Id ; Ceo. Wishart, Is ; B. Ewen, lid (accepted). Gravel Pits.— The foreman was instructed to remove the fence erected at the gravel pit on the Pmko Road in order to give the Board access to its gravel pit.—The Board decided to have several dangerous gravel pits on the 4 nun way Road railed in, and also take steps to see that when persons requite gravel they leave the pits in a satisfactory condition. Accounts. —The following accounts were passed for payment :—J. Franklin, £8 ; J. Dixon, £1 4s ; M. Kieley, £1 8s; T. H ill, £2 15s Gd ; Kami Timber Company, £2G ISs 8d ; freight. £5 10s ; G, T. Worthington, £l3 3a Gd ; collector, £3 17s 4d ; petty cash, £1 19s lid ; Waikato Argus, £4 Is Gd. Tramway Road. — The Board then went into committee to consider Mr A. Smith’s application to have the Tramway Road opened through Mr Seddon’s farm.-j—The matter was deferred for a month in order to obtain further information.
