WAIKATO LICENSING ELECTION.
Tin; returns of tlie whole of the polling places were received on Saturday, and, as we predict; d in our last issue, did not affect the result of the election, the five who were then at the head of the poll being returned. The only alteration caused was that Mr Coates passed Mr Bailey, and Mr Sandes passed Mr Smith, the other candidates remaining about relatively equal. The following are the detailed results of the polling :
Taking an analysis of the voting, we find that the position of the candidates at the various polling booths were as follows : Absolute majority : Fit/.patrick at four places, Bailey, Smith and Storey each at three, Kdgeoumbe and Teasdale each at two, Coates and White each at one, Sandcs at none. Equal with others : Edgecunibe at eight places, Storey at seven, Coates and I'ii/.patrick each at five, Sandes and "White each at two, and Bailey, Smith and Teasdale each at one. Messrs Edgecunibe and Storey were the only candidates who received votes at every polling place.
