PROPOSED HAMILTON SPORTS-

TO THE EDITOR. oIR, —Havinp to attend a meeting of the Library Committee ou Saturday evcuiog, I was not able to be present at the meeting re sports. 1 was therefore greatly surprised and disappointed this morning to be solicited tor a subscription for sports and a sports' ground in Hamilton West. We have in Sydney Square a sports' ground ample for -ill our present requirements, and establishing a rival ground means inevitable waste of power, distention and failure. 1 trust it is not too late for the committee to withdraw from Mich a mistaken proposal, and that they will abandon a scheme so calculated to raise those miserable local jealosies which were long the baue of Hamilton. — I am, etc., A. Swakurick. Hamilton West, March 22ud.
