MYSTERIOUS DROWNING AT KIHIKIHI.
Our Kihikihi correspondent wrote on Tuesday :—Much alarm- and anxiety has been caused to her many friends and relations by the Hidd-n disappearance of Mrs Jennings, wife of Mr Geo. Jennings, of this place. Mr< Jennings was missed from home at 1 o'clock on Monday morning, and so far. I am sorry to say, no trace lias been found of her. Constable Carroll has the matter in hand, and he and some of the missing lady's friends and relations are searching and inquiring every where. The affiir is a corrplete mystery as yet. The hope that she may yet be found safe and uninjured is a universal expression here. (b\ TELEORArit.—OWN CORUESrONDENT). Kihikihi, Yesterday Afternoon. The body of the missing woman Mrs Jennings was found about noon to-day in the Mangahoi Creek, some two hundred yards below the bridge on the Kihikihi-Rangiaohii Road. There is no evidence to show how the unfortunate woman pot into the water. The body has been conveyed tn her home, »vhere an i.iquest will lie held. The sad ending of the mystery has caused a great shock to very many people here.
