THE LATE MRS FERGUSON.
0 Our Whatawhata correspondent writes : It was with no ordinary feelings of sorrow that the residents of this district learnt of the death of Mrs A. M. Ferguson at the Waikato Hospital from the effects of the sad burning accident. Although everyone realised the serious nature of the occurrence, few, as you remark in Tuesday's issue, ever expected it would have such an ending ; but in spite of the devoted attention of Dr. Kenny and his skilful staff of nurses, Mrs Ferguson has passed away, deeply regretted by all who knew her. The deceased was always of a bright and cheerful disposition, and in spite of her manifold and heavy duties usually had a smile and a pleasant word for all. The loss of such a wife and mother is a heavy blow to Mr Ferguson and bis family, who will have the sincere sympathy of everyone. The funeral took place at the Whatawhata Cemete.-y at 3 p.m. on Wednesday last, the Kev. R. O'C' Biggs conducting the service. A large number of friends and neighbours attended, and many more would hive done so had Mr Hunter's sheep fair not been on the same day, thus preventing many old friends from paying their last tribute of respect to the memory of a really good woman.
