Quotations are as follows : -—Hides : A shade firmer, especially for stout ox and good conditioned cow. Prices : Prime stout ox, 51d to Old ; heavy stout, lid to s,jd ; light and medium, 3jd to 4{d ; cow, best lines, 3,1.(1 to 3gd : sloppy, -'.yd to 3-1 ; kip, to 3d ; calf, to -Id lb. Skins : Competition not so good. Large, -Is Od to 5s 31, smaller and medium, os (id to 4s (id each ; pelts, 7d to Old ; lambs, Is -Id to 2s. On Friday, horses yarded numerously. There was a steady demand for useful drafts of all classes, prices varying with age and condition from HO to £24 10s. On Tuesday, hides were without alteration in values. Medium ox. 31d to-Id ; cows, 2yd to3]d ; calfskins, 2ld~to 4|d lb ; tallow, lis to 13s Od ; bones, 3s cwt; rough fat, l.Jil lb ; sheepskins, from 2s to 5s 5d ; pelts, lid to 0d ; lambskins, Is 3d to Is Od each ; fleece wool, from 5d to Old ; washed locks, Id to (id ; pieces and locks, 21d to 4d lb. At Pokeno, on Monday, a moderate muster of cattle, all in good condition,were dull of sale. At Drury, on Wednesday, cattle yarded in less than usual number,sold freely throughout the sale. Dairy cattle and well-bred yearling or two-year-old steers were in demand and better worth. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cattle in usual number were at last week's values. Those at profit were from £3 to I*s Ids each. The store steers advertised were fairly competed for, and brought from £3 lis to £1 10s each. Young and tat calves in usual number. Young calves at last week's values. Fat cattle in usual number ; 213 sold were at lower values than last week. Steers were from 15s to 17s, the greater part at 10s 1001 b ; steers ranged in price from .£'s 5s to £l2 IDs; cows, £3 to £ I 17s lid each. Fat sheep in average number, 1000 sold, were slow of sale, but kept last week's values. Prices for wethers were from 7s (id to 0s 3d ; ewes, Od to 7s Od each; lambs, plentiful, were required, 440 sold, prices were from Is (id to 10s 3d, but mostly from 5s (id to 7s ; store lambs, Is 0d to 3s each ; pigs, in moderate supply, were at late values ; porkers from 15s to £1 f>3 ; slips, Ss tolls; young weaners, 3s 3d each. Messrs HuxTEit and Nolan's Weekly Retort, —drain, horsefeed, seeds: A moderate demand has prevailed, and the quantities has been sufficient for requirements. We quote : Maize on wharf, 2s 7d to 2s Sd bushel ; ex store, 2s 0.1 to 3s ; feed oats, 2s 7d to 2s Od ; bran, £1 to £4 5s ton. Horses : Yciy large numbers have been brought forward and a great many sales e(Teet:d, but without any material alteration in value. The Durham Yards were completely filled on Fiiday. There was stei'Jy competition throughout the sale, and at the conclusion of a lengthy sale very few lots remained uncleared. We quote : Heavy draught, £l2 15s to L'27 10s ; medium draught, £lO 10s to £l7 15s; light harness horses, £5 to £l2 17s Od. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones : There has been no noteworthy alteration in value. About average quantities were pitched at the Durban: Yards on Tuesday, and the demand was good. We quote : Extra stout ox hides, 0d to o : 'd lb ; stout ox, Id to 5d per lb ; cow and steer, 21d to ;;',d;ealf skins, 3d to 41-1 ; tallow," 12s to lls (id per cwt ; sheepskins, from 2s 5d to 5s lOd each ; dry, Is 7d to -Is 0,1 : lambskins, Is to Is Oil ; wool ficco'; in bales, syd to (id lb ; bngs, Id to Old ; belly and pieces, from 3'd to 4yd. Cattle- : 'The continual dry weather has made holders willing to sell, but the demand was not good, and the previous week's values cou'il not be obtained. There was an average muster at Newmarket on Tuesday, and there was steady competition, but beef receded in value. We quote : Ox beef, 10s to ISs per 100 lb ; cows, 15s to 17s. Sheep; The Newmarket pens were well filled on Tuesday, and the previous week's values were fully maintained. Wethers sold at from 0s to 10.-: Od ; ewes, 5s to 0s 01 ; lambs from -Is to 10.-: od. Pigs : Few yarded. Porkers sold from lis to 30s each.
