The Waikato Annus Office, Wednesday. McNICOL AND CO.'S SALE. At Messrs McNicol and Co.'s sale on Tuesday, about 1300 head of cat He were yarded, inc*ud : ng about SO bulls. Most of the stock offered were youtig and of an average quality. Very few grown steers yarded. About 40 dairy cows of a moderate description were offered, but the demand was slack, unless for good animals. The sale for young stock was a dragging one, and several puis were passed, the number being in excess of requirements, every pen being crammed, as well as the drafting yards. There was a great concourse of people, evidently the chief attraction was the bull sale. The following are about Ihe prices obtained:—Dairy cows, from £2 10s to £5 ; calves, from 20s to2(is, with a moderate demind ; yearlings, mixed sexes, from 30s to 395; IS months'steers, £2 2s; three and a-half-yearold in good condition, £3 lOi ; fat steers, up to £7 5s ; do. cows, £3 17s (H. Several lots that were passed in under the hammer were sold afterwards privately, as there appeared to he a brisk business done after the sale was over. The Polled Angus cows offered failed to meet with a purchaser under the hammer, but afterwards Mr R. Reynolds purchased two Herd Book Polled Angus cows from Mr C.Storey, junr., at £ls each. Bulls: There was a splendid lot of young bulls offered, some of which elicited keen competition. Mr TV. Taylor, of Green Hill, topped the market witli l'U guineas for a yearling Shorthorn. The Rotorangi draft was also a line lot, showing quality and breeding, tor which the bidding was brisk. Those bulls were got by Cadmus and May Duke. The bulls bred by Mr Taylor and those from the Eotorangi Estate are looked upon as first - c'ass, being the produce from pedigree stock. Several gnide bulls ■were also sold at fair prices, in fact very few remained unsold. Robinson, 1 four-year-old bull, 2} guineas, C. Storey. Several aged bulls were sold at from 2 to 5 guineas. Sheep: About 1500 were yarded, for which there was a _ fair demand. AUCKLAND MARKETS. (BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT). Auckland, Last Night. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's report : —A large number of horses was cjtercd at the Durham Yards on Friday last. Ilea".y draughts brought from £l2 IDs to £25 10s; medium, £0 l."»s to £lO 10s; light harness, £3 10s to £l2 15s ; hacks. £3 to £9 15s. One well-bred hack brought £l6 10s. At the Junction Yards yesterday the beef markets, although somewhat smaller in number of beasts entered remained depressed, ox beef selling at from 17s to 18s, and cow beef 15s to Kis per 1001 b. Stccra brought from £5 to £8 15s : cows fiom £3 5s to £5 7s Gd. Dairy cows were plentiful, but were also dull of sale, from £3 to £5. Large numbers of sheep were brought forward, and prices remained the same sis the previous week, ranging for wet hem from 13s Gd to 'Bs (id ; ditto, shorn, 8s to 12s 3d ; ewes, lis Gil to 13s; shorn ditto., 5s Gd to lis; lambs, in laiye numbers, 4s to lis 3d. Pigs were scarce, at from 14s to 265. '
