Pacini: CU'H.— A meeting of the Wnipa Racing Club was held In the Pub'ic Library buildings on Friday evening lust. There was a gofid attendance of members, Mr Ceo. Aliicr presiding. After a short discussion it was decided to hold u race meeting on the 29th December and that the sum of seventy-five pounds be given away in stakes. P. Lynch, J. W. M. Singleton, J. B. Tensdale. T. W. Weatherill, F. Gibson, M. S. Laurie, J. Corboy, A. Brett, M. Gonie, H. Weal, G.' Ahier, W. Scarankc and W. Bend ; judge, Mr VV. Taylor; starter. Mr G. J. Storey ; clerk cf Sca'cs, Mr G. Ahier; hind cappeis, Comniittcc, exclusive of horsi owners ; clerk of course, Mr T. W. Weatherill; hon. sec , Mr J. H. Lyons. Athletic Club.—Judging from the interest that is being taken by our townspeople and others the forthcoming amateur sports should prove the most successful mcetine yet held. The Secretary informs nic that he has had a valuable trophy promised by the wellknown firm of Messrs Friar Davies and Go. Intending competitors are reminded that all events close with the secretary on Friday next at Te Awamutu. Duai.vaui". Boakd.—A meeting of the Mangahoi Land Drainage Board was held in their office on Saturday last. There were present: Messrs Hutchinson (Chairman), Rorth, Ingham, Ashby and J. W. M. Singleton. The chairman reported that the classification list was finally passed and signed by the Magistrate. Only two appeals were heard and were both dismissed by the Court. It was decided to Str'ke the rates as follows: Lands directly benefitted, lid in the £ ; less directly. Id in the £ ; indirectly, -Id in the £. The clerk was instructed to procure the necessary set of hooks, etc. An account for printing was passed for payment, —Own Correspondent.
