On Tuesday afternoon an inquest was held at the residence of the grandparents, Hamilton East, on the body of the infant of Mr James Quinn. Mr T. H, White officiated as Coroner, and the jury comprised of Messrs W. Dey, fore man, W.H Kelly, juror., C McKenzie, H.E Tristram, G. Pearson and Ryan. Evidence given by the mother and grandmother, who slept in the same bed with the child, showed that the child seemed all right on Sunday night when put to bed. Later on it refused its food, and in the morning was dead in the mother's arms. Dr. Brewis said the child had apparently died from suffoca tion, and a verdict of accidental death was returned.
