THE CZAR IN FRANCE.
Paws, October 11 TllE review of the French troops at Chalons by Iho Cz:ir was a brilliant spectacle. Ninety thousand men were under nnns, and half a million spectators looked on. Sixteen thousand cavalry executed ti charge in Splendid style, stopping only a few yards in front of the Czar. The magnificence and glitter of the display worked those present into a, state, of frenzy and enthusiasm. The President, in proposing the toast of the. Russian forces, said the Imperial visit would leave ineffaceable memories, and solemnly affirmed the unchangeable friendship of the nations. The Czar, in reply, expressed his delight at the spectacle they had just seen, and endorsed President Faure's remarks about friendship. Tho armies of the two nations would be animated by a profound sentiment of fraternity. Wliile crossing the frontier on his way to Darmstadt the Czar wired to President Fame that lie felt the nation's heart was with bint, and tho recollections of his visit to Paris would be deeply engraved in his memory.
