The New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Agekcy Company report :—Melbourne, September 25- Wool : The prospects of this market continue to improve as the time advances, and it is now certain that the buying power will be materially strengthened, not only from the United Kingdom hut also from the Continent, whence the chief accession of fresh buyers will come. The transit and financial facilities are now so great that wool can be despatched direct to the principal manufacturing centres of the world, and a bid is now being made by the directors of the Manchester Canal for a share of the consignments. Buying orders arc constantly being received by cable, and a very large business could have been transacted daring the winter had the necessary staple been available.— It is cheering to notice that the Bradford market is strengthening, and as this emporium is 'he pulse of the world's wool market, its indications can he accepted as reliable. Bradford is usually slow to respond to a revival, and improvement is frequently far advanced elsewhere before any signs arc shown by Yorkshire. The September series of -London sales, which commence on the 22nd inst., is now being looked forward to with confidence. The trade generally recognise that the ensuin" dip will he a small one, and as slocks in soiond hands are trilling, it ; s generally believed that a greater disposition to replenish depleted holdings will be evinced. —Wheat : The market has been more or less influenced by weather. Some purchases were made prior to the rains at -Is lO.'.ri but since prices have receded to 4s !Ud to 4s KM. —Oats : Large arrivals from New Zealand have enabled considerable business to be done. Prime heavy qualities have sold at 3s 4J.d ; Algerians at 3s Id to 3s •2d. A little has been done in Girtarian seed at 3s to 3s 41(1.
