TuEJp"tiutions between Lord Grey of th 3 Brilisb South Africa Company), Sir Richard Martin (Commandant of the Police in Matabelclatul), and Mr Cecil Rhodes, and tbc chiefs holding the Matoppo Hills continue. The chiefs admitted they were beaten, and that tbey were weary of hostilities. Tbey asked for time as to a general surrender, as the principal difficulty was the objection by the natives to yield their arms.
