Town Boakd. The usual monthly meeting of the Town Board was held on Thursdy evening l»:-t. l'resent : Messrs J. L. Mandeuo (chairmjii), Ceo. Ahier, F. Gibson, W. North and P. Lynch. It being the Heal meeting of the old Board the business lasted longer than usual, ;is all the .ice nuts were gone thrill.: h.— Mr Geo. Ah er, chairman of the Had Committfc, produced tlm balance-sheet for the year, showing the to'al receipts to hive been £3B 2s Oil, [■nil the expenditure £,'>l l'2s 4d, leaving ;i credit balance of £6" 10s 21, which would be paid into the Town Board. Gibson, 10s.—After the meeting concluded the Chairman thanked the cominissio- ers f r the courtesy shown to him during his term of office.
Social.—The next social in connection with St. John's Church, with be held in the Town Hull, on Friday next, the 18th inst. Kanoiaoiiia Road Board. The monthly meeting of tlie Board was held iu their office on Saturday list. There were present: Messrs W. Mandeuo (Chairman), R. Burke, R. Kay, (i. Me Kinder, M. Turney and the Kngincer.— The Chairman said that little or no notice was taken by several parties to whom the notices requesting them to clear the gor/.e, etc., had been sent. It was decided that each member inspi et the district and report at the next meeting of the liotiid with a view to steps being taken to enforce the Act.—The engineer was instructed to have the necessary repairs done to the Lake road and to Weal's rood, also for forming Storey's Hangiaohia Road. The Eng neer was instructed to have th" necessary work done to the road near Carley's.—M. Bearsley's account for £1 Is was passed.
