MATERNAL MR HARRISON?
Waimarino's friendly traffic officer Ian Harrison has been laid up in the maternity ward of the Waimarino Hospital lately. Gossip doesn't know what gain he's expecting to bear from his stay, perhaps the delivery of a bouncing, reconditioned bod bourne on a fitter frame? ( Gossip heard he's in traction for a bad back). Anyway while he's been there he's been on a special diet to help the situation, but like many of those expectant people who spend time in the ward he has the odd craving. While he was allowed out of traction to go walkies he was passing the nurses' snackmaking resource room and the smell of freshly delivered toast got the better of him. He raced in, swiped the toast and ate it, then raced out again. He eventually owned up to the crime soon after being found out.
