PRIEST VISITS TOWN
Ex-Waimarino Catholic Priest Father Bernie Vella passed through the area last week on his way Manurewa. Father Vella has been in Wellington, convalescing after receiving cancer treatment. He said his illness is now in remission and is spending a year in Auckland to see how his health shapes up. If all goes well he may return to his mission north of Noumea. Father Vella said he would have liked to see more of his old friends while in the Waimarino but staying just overnight didn't leave much time.
