Cancer group offers advice and checks
Throughout this Summer, the Cancer Society has focusscd on an awarcncss of skin cancer and on sensible bchaviour in the sun. Addcd to this, a number of very successful "Skin Chcck" days have bccn held. Thcsc have allowcd the public to have suspicious skin lesions examincd by health professionals. For some people a condition of conccrn has bccn rcvealed. For most people, fears have been allaycd. One of the principal cducational roles of the Cancer Society is to allay fears, to cxplain
exactly what cancer is, to discuss at risk groups and to indicate early warning signs. Lectures on all aspccts of cancer, accompanied if required by vidcos suitablc to the composition of the audicncc, are the business of Cancer Society Educational Officer, Robin Brassington. He is anxious to and is happy to spcak to mcn's groups, to womcn's organisalions, to parent and church or service groups in this area. To arrange such a talk, daytimc or evcning, contact Mr R. E.
