WAIMARINO DISTRICT COUNCIL EXTRAODINARY VAQANCY ON COUNCIL An extraodinary Councillor vacancy has arisen on the Waimarino District Council due to the resignation of Councillor F.E. Gould. Council, pursuant to Section 51 of the Local Elections and Polls Act 1976, has by resolution determined that the vacancy shall be filled by Council appointment. It is Council's intension to appoint the highest available unsuccessful candidate from the last Ohakune Ward election. Electors of the Ohakune Ward may demand that an election be heid to fill the vacancy and such an election shall be held provided that no less than five per cent (5%) of the electors of the Ohakune Ward give notice in writing under their hand to this effect. Such demand shall be delivered at the Council office at 15 Miro Street, Ohakune, not later than twenty two (22) working days after the date of this public notice - that is by 4.00pm on Friday 3 March 1989. Every person who signs a demand that an election be held to fill a vacancy shall clearly state, against the signature, the person's name and address with sufficient particularity to enable the person to be identified as an elector of the Ohakune Ward of the Waimarino District Council.
