RUAPEHU PLANE WRECK TO BE USED
I The Air Force is liplanning to recover the ■ , remains of an aeroplane "jthat crashed on Mt Rullapehu in the 1950s. || DoC has been advised ■ that the RNZAF want to * recover what remains of I a twin engined Oxford | aircraft, NZ1902, to use ■ parts for creating a ■ replica of an Oxford. | Air Force staff are | planning to recover the - remains in April. W Staff at the Air Force's Wigram museum will copy the metal parts of the plane, which was built of wood and some metal. The Oxford, which was also known as a Consul, was a passenger aircraft which carried between six and eight people.
