Waimarino public health nurse job reshuffle
Waiouru's public health nurses became one person from this week onwards. Until last Friday the job was shared by nurses Judith Brake and Anne White, but from Monday Judith takes over.
Mrs White and her husband, ex-Staff Sergeant Alex White, are moving to . Pukekohe. Anne is leaving her job to spend a year working through a full time course in midwifery. Husband Alex
has retired from the Army and is planning to spend a year working on getting their new house and garden ship-shape. They have bought an old house and had it moved onto
their section at Pukekohe. "I think we'll have dirty hands for the next year," said Anne. Alex White's last posting was to the school of tactics, be-
fore he retired last month. The Whites have been in Waiouru for three years, having moved up from Christchurch. Anne says her work as health nurse in Waiouru has been a great experience in a community that is very different to the one she left in Christchurch. • Judith Brake says she will be continuing the work they have started together, which includes an emphasis on promoting environmental health issues such as clean air, lead free petrol and smoke
free zones, and discouraging the excessive use of pesticides and harmful chemical
products. "It's nothing original, but it needs retelling," says Judith.
