CANOE NUMBERS UP
Publicity over the Wanganui river flows review may have encouraged people to canoe the river over the holiday break. Canoeist numbers on the river were thought to be well up on last year with commercial operators reporting significantly more bookings. Conservation officer John Lythgoe said the publicity may have helped boost numbers.
