RF Reunion

Past New Zealand soldiers from all round the country and some from overseas celebrated the 40th anniversary reunion of the Regular Force Cadet School on the weekend. Over 650 ex-soldiers turned out for the twoday event along with 11 former patrons, the Governor General and Commander in Chief His Excellency the Most Reverend Sir Paul Reeves, GCMG, and Chief of General Staff Major General D.S. Mclver, OBE. The programme

started with a March- in at 15.00 hours on Friday December 16 followed by a happy hour then dinner. On Saturday class photographs were taken in the morning and a weapons effect demonstration was held in the afternoon at Gas Hut Hill. Other activities on Saturday were "free flow visits", golf, a "Beating of retreat" parade, reunion smoko rounded of with a buffet dinner in the evening. On Sunday there was a muster (by year and class), a reunion parade, remembrance service then a march past. Following the weekend reunion, this year's Regular Force cadet Passing Out Parade is to be held Wednesday December 22.
