MANGANUI A TE AO RAFTING PACT ENDS

A pact between the Department of Conservation and rafting operators on the Manganui a Te Ao ends this Friday. Doc officer John Heaphy said from Friday people can raft and tube-float the river now that the blue ducks have finished mating. He said the pact, which saw rafting companies staying away from the river during the mating season, has been very beneficial for the ducks.
