Rangataua Sewerage scheme questions & answers
On October 19, 1988 the contract for the Rangataua Sewerage scheme was quoted in the Wanganui Chronicle at a meeting of the Waimarino District Council as costing, and I quote, $270,000. Now with extra service laterals to be added at a cost of $25,000 the scheme final cost will be $346,000. How is it then that the contract price originally of $270,000 with $25,000 added on comes to $295,000 and yet we are told the final cost to be
$346,000. Tell me then where the $51,000 difference between these figures is being spent and by who?
