Rangataua repayments

With the advent of the sewage going ahead in Rangataua I think that the Waimarino District Council was and is morally obligated to inform the ratepayers of Rangataua what is involved in the scheme, such as costs and the repayments, the only information we have is second hand talk. Personal repayments of the sewage scheme seem to be the biggest worry of many of the

ratepayers. The cost of this will be very hard on some people. There are three ways repayments could be made to suit t h e ratepayers and after all it is coming out of our pockets. (1) a lump sum payment, (2) a five year repayment scheme, or the 20 year repayments which the County Council proposed in the first place.

Already we have extra costs being put on to the original price because of consultant niistakes, the District Manager says the revised cost would not be a large amount but why should ratepayers have to pay for someone else's mistakes, is not a contract a binding agreement or can it be altered to suit anyone at anytime?
