Swimming Season soon

Waimarino's swimming baths were due to be opened on the weekend, after they were filled and tested last week. District Manager John Murrihy told the council at their last meeting that the staff were investigating the use of a different paint for the baths, which would be harder wearing and longer lasting. He said then that the baths would be opened as soon as possible after painting. However, Mr Murrihy told the Bulletin last week that he had since learned that the Raetihi Baths were painted last year and that the Ohakune baths were in an adequate condition for this swimming season. He said the paint the staff had looked at proved to be too expensive.
