The annual Ohakune Plunket Fun Run was held on Sunday November 27 in somewhat blustery conditions.

This perhaps affected the number o f competitors with only 45 people taking part. The first person home and wirmer of the Primary School Boys 4km race was Lindsay Cast in a time of 20 minutes 13 seconds. Chris Thrupp, the reigning champion,

proved his superiority once again in the 8km race by winning in an excellent time of 26 minutes 35 seconds. Other winners were: 8km Ladies, Liz Hudspith, 34 minutes 42 seconds; Primary School Boys 8km, Lee Howe, 37 minutes 5 4 seconds; 4km Mens, Bernie Waikawa, 2 5

minutes; 4km Ladies, Angel Rapana, 2 0 minutes 25 seconds; College Boys 4 km, Terrance Parata, 3 3 minutes; College Girls 4km, Nicola Cast, 33 minutes; Primary School Girls 4km, Jessie Pope, 20 minutes 44 seconds. The youngest competitor to complete the 4km course entirely under her own steam was three year old Megan Laurenson in a

time of 36 minutes 32 seconds. Profit from the event, which was genorously sponsored by local businesses, was approximately $70, well down on previous years' figures because of the poor turnout. However all those present enjoyed the event and one in every two people taking part went home with a prize.
