Primary school speakers
A speech competition for Waimarino primary school children was recently organised by the Ruapehu Lions Club. The winner of the competition was Warwick Hays f r o m Ohakune, second was Janine Maru from Raetihi and third was Anna Dobson from Raetihi. They received book tokens from the Lions as prizes as well as tokens for their schools, plus a certificate. Children from Raetihi, Ohakune, Rangataua, Ngamatea and Orautoha primary
schools took part in the event, compared by Ruapehu Lion John Chittendon. The judges were Fay Eves, Jefferine
O'Sullivan and Keitha Journeaux, all three members of the Ruapehu International Training in Communications Club.
