CONTORTA TENDERS UP
Twice as many tenders than last year have been received by the Department of Conservation for clearing Pinus contorta from the Rangipo Blocks, bordering the Tongariro National Park. DoC officers say there have been more than 20 applications for the job of clearing the weed pine tree from the land, south of the park boundary and north of the Karioi forest. There are four blocks from eieht to 36 hectares.
