Situation : A trough of low pressure covers the Tasman sea. A depression within this trough is expected to cross central New Zealand on Monday night and move off to the south east during Tuesday. This should be followed by an anticyclone on Thursday and Friday. Forecast: Fresh north easterlies at first and rain briefly heavy Monday night. On Tuesday winds easing and rain turning to showers. From Wednesday cooler west or south west with Iona fine periods.
