Spotting skin cancer
The Cancer Society has adopted Spot, a young Dalmatian as the mascot for their Melanoma Awareness Campaign because, says the society she can remind people to check their own spots.
"Changes in moles and freckles often indicate the development of the dangerous form of skin cancer, melanoma," says Robin Brassington of the Cancer Society. The Cancer Society is running its Melanoma Awareness Campaign this summer to alert New Zealanders to watch for these signs.
