TOURIST ACCESS ROAD WORK BEGINS

Work on the access road to the proposed Pipiriki tourist accommodation complex began recently. Watworth Holdings Limited is the company involved in the project that plans to develop the 54 hectare site two kilometres down river from Pipiriki. The first stage of the development is the building of the road, 40 caravan sites and about 26 cabins. Recent wet weather has slowed the start of the road construction which means the first cabins will not be sited until after April 1989, say the developers.
