Waimarino Mayor stays put

Waimarino Mayor Garrick Workman is to stay in the area. Last week he announced he will not take up the position offered to him i n Levin but has accepted the position of manager of the Army Garrison Institute supermarket in Waiouru. He takes over the job in Waiouru in December. Mayor Workman had intended to see out his

term as Mayor of the Waimarino District Council, travelling from Levin to attend

to meetings and mayoral duties. He has been appointed chairman of the Ruapehu

District Council Transition Committee, adding to his local government activities.
