This Notice has the effect that the Forest Area known as Waimarino Forests, and its Fire Safety Margin is specified as a restricted fire season for 12 months from August 31 1988. PERMITS REQUIRED TO LIGHT FIRES IN OPEN AIR: Every person commits an offence against the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977 who sets on fire, or assists to set on fire, or causes to be set on fire, or aids, abets and assists in setting on fire in the open air any vegetation or any other combustible material whatsoever except pursuant to an authority or permit from a Fire Officer for the Forest Area. UNAUTHORISED ENTRY The Forest and Rural Fire Regulations 1979 deem it an offence for any person to knowlingly and wilfully enter or remain in any exotic forest without a written permit or, being a permit holder fails to observe the conditions in the permit. The Company hereby gives warning that it will take all necessary steps to enforce this provisioin of the Regulations.
