Scheme proposal

The Waimarino District Council intends to review the District Planning Scheme, which is currently in three parts. The three parts are the former Waimarino County District Scheme, the Raetihi Borough District Scheme, and the Ohakune Borough District Scheme. The aim of reviewing the scheme review is to

produce one document which, with some minor changes, will follow the existing zones and ordinances with the modifications necessary for a single document. The Scheme will then reflect the current philosophy and direction of the existing three schemes, according to a proposal statement on the review. However, the council does intend to reduce the number of zones throughout the district and simplify t h e scheme so that is more easily understood, according in the proposal statement.
