I would like to complain about the way some people handle (or mishandle) their dogs. On the Sunday of Labour weekend my cat was sitting in her usual sunny spot on our front lawn. A lady walked past with two dogs, one of which - an Alsatian - broke away from her and attacked my cat for n o apparent reason. When we found her hours later she was dying because she had been bitten and her intestines were hanging out of her wound. She had to be taken to the Taihape vet who operated on her for one hour as her whole stomach was torn apart. She now has about 25 internal
stitches and about 1 5 stitches on the outside of her body. She is also very badly bruised and not surprisingly - extremely sick. I should
like the owner of the dog to rcad this in disgust because not only has she cost us a lot of money in vet bills, she nearly cost us the life of our cat!
