JUST FIVE MORE MINUTES, THEN I'LL GET UP OK?
Two Saturdays ago a local bumps skier demonstrated just how keen on the sport he is. Ruapehu College PE teacher Leon Hawea woke early on the said morning to find a great day's skiing was in store. As normal he made a few calls to rally the troopS. Trouble was this particular morning they didn't seem too keen. (yawn!) Too bad, I'm off! said Leon. His wee white motorized mogul was seen whizzing up the mountain, with Leon waving cheerily to a Turoa busload of familiar faces, though he didn't quite click as to what they were doing. It was at the car park he realised his watch was fast, the bus was full of Turoa staff and he had about an hour to wait before the field would be open!
