SHEARERS SHOW OFF TO SKI INSTRUCTOR
Toronto city girl and Turoa ski instructor Julia was "educated" recently when she visited a shearing shed, with genuine kiwi blokes in black singlets, smelly sheep and "the dog". Reliable sources say Julia, who is a townie to the extreme, was most impressed that the blokes had put on scruffy jeans and tom shirts just to make it look like authentic Footrot Flats just for her. She is reported to have asked the blokes not to put the sheep on their backs as they would be uncomfortable, and was so worried when a shorn sheep wasn't lowered gently out of the shed but was pushed down a skinny plank, that she ran outside to make sure it was okay. There, to top it all, she was treated to an on-the-spot lambing, which saw her jaw drop a foot and her amazement meter climb to skyscraper heights!
