The Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade attended a false alarm at Breckenridge Lodge in the Turoa Village shortly after 10.15am last Thursday. Chief Fire Officer Max Martin says the call out was just the 17th for the entire nine month period since January which he says is very

unusual. There has been a dramatic drop in the number of chimney fires and skier related motor vehicle accidents t o date this season, but Mr Martin was cautious about celebrating saying that there are still weeks before the end of the season and over three months until the end of the year.
