FALSE ALARM HAS TEACHER IN STITCHES
Ohakune's newest volunteer fire fighter Caroline Gilcs answered the siren for the first time last wcck. She was at her teaching job at the primary school when the siren sounded, she dropped her nose (a number of the teachers were amusing the juniors, and each other, by wcaring duck noses), ran to her push bike and peddled to thc station. Unfortunately her bike had no brakcs and our heroine crashcd outside the station, causing herself an injury. After rccciving some stitches, she found out thc call-out was a false alarm! (a good thing in more ways than one - Caroline may have broken her leg if it had been a real fire!)
