Course for ski instructors at Turoa
To prepare skicrs who want to attain their Stage One Ski Instructors certificate, Turoa Ski Academy are running a pre-alliance course. The course is highly recommended for those
without previous teaching experience, b u t want to sit their Stage One certificate this season. Stage One testing takes place at Whakapapa skifield from September 24 to October 1. This eight day
course places emphasis on skiing skills, demonstration skiing, skier analysis and lesson planning. Teaching the progression from beginner through to parallel turns with a pole plant. The last two days are
examination days. Examiners are themselves highly qualified, world experienced instructors, some being members of the New Zealand Demonstration Ski Team. The Stage Two Instructors certificate is
also being cxamincd at Whakapapa. Stage Two moves through teaching progressions of the more advanced skiing skills like parallel, short and high speed turns. Anybody intcresled in learning more Tum page 2
