Pakinga said he was very happy with the turnout for the Waimarino's first everroad race of that dis--tance. Twenty-four runners, the majority of thcm
from Waiouru, entered the event with the proceeds donated to the Ohakune Kindergarten. The first runner across the finish line was Ohakune man Barry Marnoch, with the first woman Julie Johnson from Waiouru. Major Eddie Bright from Army Training Group, Waiouru took the Veteran's title with Nathan Toi, also of Waiouru, winning the under 16 event.
