Beautiful New Zealand programme
Representatives of Keep New Zealand Beautiful visited the region recently to discuss the possibility of forming groups i n Ohakune and Raetihi townships. The aim of the organisation is to encourage community involvement in improving the aesthetic qualities of small rural and urban towns. The scheme involves individuals each contributing time to one aspect of the project and in that way shares the workload.
