PR MEN SAY TOP SPRING SKIING IS ON THE WAY

Marketing managers for both Turoa and Whakapapa Skifields are optimistically looking forward to a bumper spring skiing season. Good snow coverage on both fields and good .crowds have skifield staff smiling, regardless of the recent persistent rain in the region. Ruapehu Alpine Lifts' Marketing Manager Scott Lee says Whakapapa skifields look likcly to close on October 31 and that they are likely to run out of skiers before they run out of snow. Turoa are equally optimistic about the rest of the 1988 season and say that so far it has been an improvement on last year, says Marketing Manager Andy Chapman. The snow cover at Turoa is looking good despite the rain and should hold until the official end of the season on Novcmber 5.
