RAL moves against reckless skiers

Continuing incidents of dangerous skiing have prompted RAL into enforcing a strict policy on out of control skiers.

From now on individuals who are caught skiing in such a manner that is likely t o endanger others will be warned and have their ticket marked. If they offend a second time that day they will have their pass removed. If they do injure someone through a dangerous act they will have their pass removed immediately. While strict enforcing the policy RAL accepts that on occasions skiers simply "lose it"

and are not intentionally skiing dangerously. Staff implementing the dangerous skiing policy will use their good judgment in such cases, say RAL officials. "Good grooming has enabled many skiers to ski faster than their skill level allows," said Scott Lee Marketing Manager for RAL. "We believe we have the full support of all skiers in enforcing this policy to make the mountain safer for all."
