Social worker-
Kathy Frater took up her new position as social worker for Waiouru on August 8. Kathy leaves behind in Wellington a grown up family. Her career started as a volunteer in the Citizens Advice Bureau, and then after a few years progressed to Community Mental Health Social Worker in Lower Hutt. Kathy then attended Victoria University in Wellington, where she obtained a Diploma in Social Work. For the last eight years she has worked for the Social Welfare Department in Lower
Hutt. Kathy intends to attending a variety of community meetings to get a profile of Waiouru. She is also available as a resource person to community groups. While here her j o b involves budgeting, marriage guidance, mediation, family and group work, and anger management. Kathy's main interest is renovating her own home in Wellington and playing backgammon. She will be available during the day at her office in the community health rooms or in the evenings at home.
