Bankers rate in ski races

The New Zealand financial group Bankers Trust is the winner of this year's Telerate Corporate Ski Challenge, held on Sunday at Turoa Skifields. The scheduled Giant Slalom and novelty races were postponed on Saturday due to the bad weather and high winds which closed the field mid-morning but it was all go on Sunday at the Moro Race TBar. Thirty entries were received from financial groups from around the North Island. Major sponsors of the event were Ski Yer Heart Out ski shops

who donated four pairs of skis as first prize, for winners Bankers Trust. The second place getters, NZI Bank, received a Corporate Ski Pass courtesy of Turoa Skifields. While the races may have been postponed one day, nothing stopped the champagne flowing at the private function held at the Hot Lava Nightclub on Saturday night. The function was originally planned as a prize giving. Thirty teams were entered in the competition from financial groups including NZI, Westpac and New Zealand Equities.
