Kids in WWII
Hope and Glory is a tale about war and family, as seen through the eyes of a child. A child who saw it as a magical, marvellous time, with just the right mixture of exhilaration and terror. "My Mum burst out crying and kept hugging us when we heard on the wireless that England was at war with Germany. "She does that a lot, my Mum. Dad tired to look sad but was quite pleased underneath. "Mum was really angry when he joined up. He really enjoyed the Great War. He stuck pigs in India.
