"I went to Yale... I don't have children."
She thinks she has it all together. She's beautiful and successful, the quintessential high-powered, career woman success story for the 80s, best defining that unique category of baby boomer called Yuppie. But en route to the most important business meeting of her career, J. C. Wiatt hits a roadblock when she discovers she has inherited a 13-month-old baby girl. "I went to Yale and Harvard. I . . . don't have children," she exclaims, but what first appears to be her downside will soon become her upside. This corporate whiz faces some tough choices as she wrestles with forsaking the power lunch and becoming supermom. Academy Award winner Diane K e a t o n brings her gifted sense of comic nuance to "Baby Boom," a contemporary comedy in which the new addition to her life forces her to come of age. Starring with Keaton are Sam Shepard, Harold Ramis and Sam Wanamaker, along with newcomers Kristina and Michelle Kennedy. Charles Shyer and Nancy Meyers, who brought "Private Benjamin" and "Irreconcilable Differences" to the screen, re-team with Shyer directing and Meyers producing from their joint screenplay. A
first class supporting cast has been assembled, including James Spader and Pat Hingle.
