DON'T PARK THAT CAR THERE...
Well, you can't say he didn't try. Ohakune's diligent traffic office spotted an illegally-parked Morris 1100 outside the local hotel on Saturday night. So he left a ticket on the windscreen. The car was still there on Sunday . . . and on Monday until another diligent officer of the law came along. This time it was none other than John Fraser, whose sledge-like nose for crime determined that this was, indeed, a stolen car. At the time of going to press it was not known whether the owner of the vehicle, a Waiouru man, collected the ticket as well as his stolen car. But we do know that he got his car back.
